⚠️ : SI recommends conducting a visual inspection, using either Method 1 or Method 2, to check the internal brackets, material roll, and electronics for any concealed shipping damage before proceeding with the screen installation.

OPERATING AND CARE OF YOUR SCREEN
- Operation of the screen systems should only be performed by responsible parties.
- Always check the path of the Solo 3 screen before operating to ensure that the path is clear of furniture or obstacles that could prevent full operation.
- Monitor the Solo 3 screen for smooth operation through its entire range.
- Operating a Solo 3 screen unattended may lead to damage from obstructions or other causes.
- Fabric maintenance and cleaning– Solo 3 screen fabric is subject to debris under normal use or in storage, requiring occasional maintenance and cleaning.
- While fading and wear over time are normal, debris could accelerate this wear.
- Screen fabrics can be cleaned with water and a mild soap.
- Scrubbing with a bristle brush or pad is not recommended.
BEFORE PROCEEDING
For best results, read the instructions in their entirety before proceeding with assembly. Actions contrary to the instructions invalidate the warranty and may result in serious damage and/or injury.
Preparing for Installation:
It is crucial that all installations are planned out carefully before specifying a screen order and assembly.
Before installation, Bracket/Mounting method and Assembly Installation method must be identified.
- Do not use a knife to cut foam or wrapping, as this may damage the shade including, but not limited to, the cassette, fabric tube, and material roll.
- The tube may shift within the cassette during shipping; open the cassette with care.
- Unpacking the box – lay cassette, fabric tube, and material roll on a soft, clean surface during the installation process.
- When removing from the box, ensure the assembly is kept horizontal to prevent damage.
- Screen Innovations recommends METHOD 2 (removal of the material roll before installation) when installing the Solo 3 screen for better control and safety of the material inside.
- When removing material from the cassette, use at least two people to lay material down on a clean, flat surface, such as a blanket or sheet.
- When utilizing either method, especially METHOD 1, make certain there are enough installers/ hoisting equipment to safely lift the cassette (and/or material) onto the brackets.
- Brackets must be level and in-line with one another before attempting to lift cassette onto brackets. Use safe lifting and rigging techniques.
CUTTING THE OPENING
Cut a rectangle pocket in the drywall or grid on the drop ceiling to accommodate the cassette size. Refer to the following drawing for dimensions.
BRACKET INSTALLATION METHODS
⚠️ : SI recommends conducting a visual inspection, using either Method 1 or Method 2, to check the internal brackets, material roll, and electronics for any concealed shipping damage before proceeding with the screen installation.
- When installing brackets and mounting the cassette/assembly, make sure to follow the complimentary instructions once readying the cassette for mounting.
- Bracket Method 1 – Drywall Mount instructions accompany the Mounting Method 1 – Drywall Mount instructions.
- Ensure matching instructions are followed.
Method 1 – Drywall Mount
Method 2 – Drop Ceiling Mount
ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION METHODS
⚠️: Before installation, determine your installation method according to your product order and installation preferences.
✅: The Solo 3 Indoor 575/675 Flush may be installed with or without the material/fabric tube to lighten the cassette for an easier installation.
✅: The roll may be left in the cassette during installation.
REMOVING THE MATERIAL ROLL
This method outlines installation of the cassette without the material tube preinstalled inside.
Step 1
- Unscrew the screws from the weight bar clip (red).
Step 2
- Remove attached screws from the bracket.
- Set the screws aside.
- Remove clips where attached to the cassette.
Step 3
- Unscrew the weight bar clip from the weight bar, taking care not to bend the material.
- It is recommended to remove the clip fully once the material roll is installed into the cassette after mounting.
Step 4
- Attach the magnetic end cap to the weight bar, keeping the material from bending.
- It is recommended to wait to attached the end caps after the material roll is inserted into the cassette after mounting.
Step 5
- Undo the silver safety screws, then press the latch as shown.
Step 6
- Using the red straps, loop the straps under the material roll, being careful to avoid the material and any obstructions.
- With the help of the straps on both ends, slowly pull out material roll and set it aside on a clean, soft surface.
- To avoid scratching the screen material, use packaging foam to carefully pick up the material from the floor.
INSTALLING THE CASSETTE
⚠️: You can Install the cassette in Drywall using the built in Zipnut Bracket System, or into a Drop Tile Ceiling using the included Brackets (all thread not included).

INSTALLING IN A DRYWALL CEILING
Step 1
- Put the zipnuts together as shown below, then place back inside the cassette on both sides.
- Each cassette includes the zipnuts preinstalled.
Step 2
- Install brackets center blocking at the end caps.
- Secure blocking by screwing in place. With lag 2 bolts, screw the sheet metal brackets into the blocking with lead screws installed.
✅: The zip nut on each side of the cassette allows the 3/8 x 16 all-thread rod to insert and lock like a zip tie; line the zipnut up with the lead screws and ratchet upwards to zip halfway. Ensure the cassette is completely level.
Step 3
- Slide the cassettes zipnuts into the all thread to the desired height.
- Fine tune the level of the cassette by turning the all thread with the hex on the end.

INSTALLING IN A DROP TILE CEILING
Step 1
- Use all thread through the ceiling by using two rods on each side of the cassette.
Step 2
- Use the swivel bar to mount the cassette at an angle as needed.
- Place the plastic sleeves on the bolt to mount, then insert the all thread rods through the swivel bar and secure with nuts.
Step 3
INSTALLING THE CASSETTE
- Lift the case straight up and hook onto the brackets attached to the swivel bar.
- Once the brackets 1 engage, the cassette will “click” into place.
Step 4
- With the cassette assembly level and brackets engaged, it is now ready for finishing steps.
RE-INSTALLING THE MATERIAL TUBE
Step 1
- Slide the material roll with mounting plates on each end into the cassette.
- Each end will “click” into place as the brackets engage.
Step 2
- Fasten the silver safety screws on the mounting plates to secure the material roll.
Step 3
- Rotate flanges into the cassette.
FLANGES
Step 1
- Hook flanges into the cassette.
- Ensure the flanges are secure by inserting the flange clips as shown.
Step 2
- Place end (short) flanges into the cassette and screw in to secure.
Step 3
- Set the door into the cassette; the door will hook in by gravity.
