Zero G: Re-string - Replacing the Material Roll (LTA) - Using MOAB
Parts
Step 1: REMOVAL
- You will use the wall switch for this operation.
- You will need to be able to access the back of the switch.
-
Flip the toggle on the back to the down position, putting the switch into programming mode.
- This makes the buttons constant contact, meaning the screen will only move when the button is depressed.
- Note: Flush mount screens will require the removal of the end cap trim piece to access the board and ports.
- Press the down button until the screen is at the bottom of the set drop. This is just to the point where the material would start to unroll. Do not unroll the material.
Step 2: REMOVAL
- Strap the lower tube assembly to the wing using some velcro straps or zip ties to prevent the material from deploying.
- DO NOT use zip ties or velcro on the viewing area part of the material.
Step 3: REMOVAL
- Loosen the thumb turn bolt on the wing drop adjustment pulley and turn the knob until all of the cord is off the pulley turned by the knob.
- Disconnect the cord from the pulley by loosening the bolt securing it to the adjustment pulley.
Step 4: REMOVAL
- Using a cart or table, hit the down button bringing the lower tube assembly down until all weight and tension is off the remaining cables.
- Disconnect the cables from the helix and move the old assembly out of the way.
Step 5: ATTACH MAIN CABLES
- Position the screen assembly underneath the case with the viewing area stickers upright and facing towards the audience.
- Use the loop on the longer cable to make an adjustable loop at the end of the cable.
- Then loop this around the screw as shown.
- You may need to press the down button to rotate the tube so you can reach the screws.
- THE MOTOR IS THERMALLY PROTECTED. IF THE MOTOR STOPS RUNNING DURING SETUP, LET IT COOL DOWN FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO RUN IT AGAIN.
Step 6: RAISING THE SCREEN
- Use one person on each side to hold tension and guide the cable onto the helix while one person holds the up button on the wall switch to wind the cable onto the helix.
- Once the screen has been lifted from the floor check to make sure that the cable is wound up on the helix properly.
DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM DROP OF 60 INCHES (152.4 CM)
- Hold the down button on the wall switch to drop the screen and release at the desired drop. The top of the viewing area is indicated on the protective tube.
- Make sure to remove any foam remaining inside the case if it did not lower with the screen.
Step 7: ATTACH WING CABLES
- (1) Run the shorter wing cable through the pulley attached to the spring.
- (2) attach the loop to the screw on the included wing spool. Finally, tighten the screw to secure wing cable to spool.
Step 8: SETTING THE DROP
- Turn the knob on the back of the wing spool until the the pulley is pulled to about a foot from the wing spool.
- Put the cable going to the wing around 2 pulleys above the spool.
- Turn the knob until the moving pulley is firmly pressed against the limit plate.
- If the cable becomes loose, make sure the wing cable is still set correctly on all pulleys as shown.
- Make sure the wing cables both have tension on them.
- Tighten the thumb screw firmly to secure the wing drop setting.
- Perform step 8 on both ends of the screen.
THUMB SCREW MUST BE FIRMLY TIGHTENED TO PREVENT THE DROP SETTING FROM CHANGING.
Step 9: SETTING THE LOWER LIMIT
- Hold the down arrow on the wall switch until the desired amount of black is showing at the bottom.
- Do not open the screen past 3’’ black showing at the bottom.
- Move the switch located on the back of the controller to normal operation.
