Installing the DecoFlex WireFree™ RTS Wall Switch
With Included SOMFY Low Voltage Mounting Bracket
About the Mounting Bracket
The included SOMFY low-voltage bracket allows you to install your DecoFlex WireFree RTS switch without an electrical box.
It supports two configurations:
Configuration 1: Mount Adjacent to Existing Light Switch
Use this setup when installing the DecoFlex switch next to a pre-existing Decora-style light switch.
- Designed to fit inside a double-gang (2-gang) wall plate for a seamless, professional finish.
- ⚠️ Do not use with "old-work" or retrofit electrical boxes.
- ✅ For best wireless performance, avoid metallic electrical boxes.
Configuration 2: Stand-Alone Installation
Use this setup when mounting a single DecoFlex switch in its own space.
Tools You'll Need
- Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
- Drywall saw
- Wall stud finder

- Ensure it aligns vertically with the existing switch.
- Trace the inner edge of the bracket onto the drywall with a pencil.
4. Cut the Wall Opening
- Carefully cut along your traced lines using a drywall saw.
⚠️ Do not cut larger than the outline. - Recommended hole size: 1 5/8" W x 3 7/16" L
5. Insert the Bracket
- Slide the bracket into the cut hole with the thin side facing the existing switch box.
6. Secure the Bracket
- Bend the built-in tabs 90 degrees behind the drywall to hold the bracket snugly in place.
7. Install the DecoFlex Switch
- Position the DecoFlex RTS switch into the bracket, aligning the screw holes.
- Tuck the wire antenna behind the wall, keeping it as straight as possible.
- Secure the switch with the included screws.
8. Finish with a 2-Gang Wall Plate
- Attach a double-gang Decora-style wall plate over both the existing switch and the DecoFlex to complete your installation.
