Connections:
- SUITE XVI is powered via the 485 Bus IN connection.
- When integrating this data hub with other devices, refer to the device's spec sheet to determine its power capacity.
- If the device cannot supply sufficient power for all connected units, an additional 485 bus power supply can be added through the AUX power input to ensure proper operation.
- Suite XVI allows you to connect up to sixteen (16) 485 devices or AC motors using CAT5e/6 cable. If you need to connect more than sixteen devices, you can add another Suite XVI hub by linking the Bus Out to the Bus In.
- When adding more hubs, make sure to check if additional auxiliary Bus power is needed.
.
Utilizing the Auxiliary Power Input:
When an Auxiliary Bus Power is connected, it takes precedent over any power on the Bus In.

DC Bias Operation:
DCBias Functionality:
Note: Use a small tool, such as a paperclip, for adjustments.
Switch 1: Enables DCBias for 485 - A
Switch 2: Enables DCBias for 485 - B
Note: DCBias should only be used for very long or noisy bus lines to ensure proper signal integrity.
Rack Mounting:
Suite XVI can be mounted in various ways using the ten (10) screw hole locations shown below.
⚠️ Note: Janus and Suite XVI share the same mounting features and accessories; there are infinite ways to install them together or separately.
Using Universal Rack Ears:
💡: The symmetrical hole pattern of the Janus Universal Rack Ear allows the multi-functional brackets to be mounted on either side of Janus in any orientation. This makes it possible to mount Janus to effectively any surface in multiple positions.
Half Rack:
- Suite XVI can be mounted in a standard half rack using two Universal Rack Ears.
Full Rack (Single Suite XVI Unit):
- A single Suite XVI unit can be mounted in a standard 19” rack using one Universal Rack Ear and one Long Rack Ear.
Full Rack (Suite XVI/Janus):
Two Suite XVI/Janus units can be coupled together and mounted in a standard 19” rack.
-
Mount the DIN Rail:
Use two (2) included DIN Rail screws to install the DIN Rail onto the first Suite XVI unit. -
Attach DIN Rail Brackets:
On the second Suite XVI or Janus unit, install the two DIN Rail brackets using three (3) Rack Ear screws per bracket (included). -
Join the Janus Units:
Hold both Janus units together and slide the DIN Rail through the brackets.
Use the included 1.5 mm hex tool to tighten the set screws on both brackets. -
Install the Fascia:
Slide the Rack Mount Fascia over the exposed DIN Rail bracket on the front of the combined unit.
Secure it with two Rack Ear screws—one at the top and one at the bottom. -
Secure the Rack Ears:
Attach one Rack Ear to each Janus unit using three (3) Rack Ear screws per ear.
⚠️ Note: When combining a Suite XVI and Janus, use the DIN rail included with Janus.
Din Rail Mounting:
Suite XVI is available in both plenum-rated and non-plenum versions. If installing the unit in a plenum airspace, be sure to use the plenum-rated Suite XVI kit. For flexible installation, the unit features ten (10) screw mounting points, allowing for multiple mounting configurations.
Using Universal DIN Rail Bracket:
Similar to the Universal Rack Ear, the Suite XVI Universal DIN Rail Bracket features a symmetrical hole pattern, offering a total of ten (10) mounting points on the Suite XVI. Each bracket includes multiple threaded holes for set screws, allowing you to securely lock the brackets in place anywhere along the DIN rail for a stable and customizable installation.
- Using the Universal DIN Rail brackets, Suite XVI can be mounted in a variety of orientations and locations.
- The Universal DIN Rail Brackets are designed for TS-35 ‘Top Hat’ DIN Mounting Rail and can be mounted on the bottom or either side of Suite XVI.
Structured Wiring Box Mounting:
Suite XVI can be installed in nearly any structured wiring enclosure using either the Universal Rack Ears or the Universal DIN Rail Brackets. These enclosures offer a clean, organized, and professional solution for managing wiring and mounting support devices like power supplies.
💡: For a fully integrated setup, use one of the Jopplin Kits to complete your mounting solution.
Depending on the Jopplin Kit selected:
-
Install up to 2 or 4 Suite XVI units—or a combination of Janus and Suite XVI units—into the Stack Mount brackets and shovels.
-
Assemble the top and bottom Power Supply brackets, then insert up to 2 or 4 Janus Power Supplies.
-
Route the power supply cables from the 2 or 4 power supplies to the corresponding Janus units installed in the Stack Mount.
