The spring tension must be set, in order to adjust the speed of the shade. The amount of pre-tensions required for each shade varies and can be found on the attached shade list.
Step 1: Adjusting the Tension
- Pull the shade down a small amount (~1/2”) and release.
- The shade will run to the upper limit.
Step 2: Adjusting the Tension
- Unlock and lever the front cassette up, removing it from the back cassette.
Step 3: Adjusting the Tension
- Install the pretension tool into the 2 slots on the head of the motor (Right side for standard roll, Left side for reverse roll).
- Gently slide the head up and then pull away from the end cap to release.
- If the shade moves too slow, add one pre-tension turn at a time until the desired speed is achieved.
- If the shade moves too fast, reduce one pre-tension turn at a time until the desired speed is achieved.
Step 4: Adjusting the Tension
- Re-install the roll into the bracket and test the tension
- If more tension is needed, repeat Step 3
If the motor lost all tension, use this chart based on the size of your shade to add the minimum amount of tension.
- 1 click is approximately 1/4 turn, each number on the chart equals 1 click (1/4 turn)
